Parenting Secrets Revealed at Superkids @SMX

The 21st century kid is undoubtedly a future champion in the making. Inquisitive, critical-thinker and technology savvy, he has what it takes to thrive in the real world in the future. Find out more about the new trends in rearing the 21st century kids in "Superkids 2011", a co-located event at the 32nd Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) set on September 16-17, 2011 at the Function Room 3, SMX Convention Center, Seashell Drive, Sm Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

Super Kids 2011 is a two-day conference and exhibition on Early Childhood that aims to highlight issues in early childhood and parenting that impact on the development of today’s young Filipino learners.

The main focus of this year’s conference is the role of parents in the development of young children. Our main speaker, Mr. David Chiem of MindChamps, Inc. Singapore, will focus on the following topics: "Creating a Champion Mindset for your child and Defining Creativity and How to Nurture It in Every Child". He is a well-known author and owner of MindChamps, Inc., an educational and progressive center for children ages 0-12 years old in Singapore. Superkids 2011 will also discuss the latest in child care and development for pre-school teachers and parents. "The Uniqueness of Each Child" with speaker Dr. Francis Xavier Dimalanta, developmental and behavioral pediatrician whose expertise on children with special needs led to the formation of a Child's DREAM (Developmental Rehabilitative Early Assessment and Management) Foundation Inc.; "A Champion Spirit in Every Child" with speaker Dr. Eduardo Villasenor, psychologist and managing director of Metropolitan Psychological Corporation in Makati Medical Center.

The Philippine scenario will be handled by well-known developmental pediatricians and clinical psychologists who will merge the learnings about children and parents from the cultural and social aspects of the Philippine society.
This two-day event will be full of new insights, ideas, and learning that will enhance and hone the strengths of parents, teachers, and adults who work with children.

Separate sessions will be held on September 17 such as "The Rights of the Child Curriculum with speaker Sam Santos, president of I Am S.A.M. Foundation, Inc. and McKinley International School & Leadership Academy for Children Lipa, Inc., "Raising Kids as Good Learners: Best Practices In Parenting" with speaker Dr. Queena Lee-Chua, professor, columnist and author, "Music and Children" with speaker Joonee Garcia, owner of Academy One music and Dance Center who specializes in early childhood music education.

I sincerely recommend for parents to attend these events, most especially to hear Dr. Queena
Lee Chua's talk on how to properly raise kids. She is such a good speaker, I've seen her a
lot of times giving talk on a few parenting seminars and I commend her for raising her own
kid, Scott into a boy genius. Parents and teachers will surely learn a lot from her as well as
from other speakers. So if you guys don't have any commitment on those days, or better yet,
reserve that day for your kids' future, please drop by the SMX Convention center.
