This
coming Father’s Day, make your Dads happy. Bring the whole family over to the
SM Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall for the 11th Philippine Toys,
Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2012 or simply Toy Con 2012. It’ll be a three-day fun-filled awesome
weekend starting on June 15 until June 17. Dads will surely be feeling like
little kids lost in a huge toy store as they see, drool, try to tinker, buy and
simply be a part of the TOYCON 2012.

As
a benchmark of all fan gatherings for the past 10 years, it once again
highlights the best of all thing pop-culture such as movie, anime, comics,
gaming and collectibles and memorabilia. Kids and kids-at-heart will be awed
when they bump into their favorite superhero character like an Avenger or a
member of the Justice League or any DC Comics character. You might even be one of them if you intend to
join the costume contest.

Warner
bros. Consumer Products and Pacific Licensing Studio will also have the “DC and
The Dark Knight Rises” on ground event at SM Megamall Events Center on June 16
and 17, 2012. It will allow DC
Comic fans to enjoy a whole day of activities with their favorite DC Comics characters.
There will also be different cool merchandise for the entire family at the 11th
Toy Con.

Meanwhile,
ABS-CBN Interactive also launches the most awaited Relic of Mystra and Version
4 as it releases Shaiya and WarRock. The new gaming roster for 2012 will also
be unveiling an Android and Java mobile gaming portals for all gamers. It will
also be the culmination of Netopia Café Wars and the opening of JBlaze Cup 2012
where the winners will be sent to Korea to compete with other international
champions.

The
Cosplay Universe will also be present so fans can enjoy photo-opps in six
themed exhibit spaces: The Anime Planet, Superhero Stars, Movie Nebula, Toy
Supernova, Gaming Galaxy and Kids Constellation. There will also be a costume
cosplay contest where it will feature guest celebrity judges from international
Cosplay circuit and contestants vie for the six grand prizes in cosplay
categories.
Of
course, Dads will also enjoy the toy collections from all over the Philippines
which will highlight the best and the latest action figure releases and the
most customized toys, statues, dolls, and other high end collectibles.

Seattle-based
Hawaiian designer Arron Martin also will show off his collection of Angry
Woebots—a brand of pop graffiti and design in an exhibit of his world famous
panda art which has graced museum walls, vinyl figures, books and
skateboards. Komikon will also
bring in Filipino roster of artists: Lui Antonio, Heubert Khan, Lyndon
Gregorio, Gilbert Mosanto, Ariel Atienza, Jon Zamar and Sherry Zamar. They will sign comics, do sketches and
fan art to sample the best local indie and mainstream titles.
Pop
apparel, cosplay accessories, superhero merchandise, fantasy and sci-fi
collectibles, action figures, tranformers, diecast cars, robots, mechanical
toys, high-end statues, 1/6 scale hot toys…the list could go on…all these and
many more will be there at the 11th Toy Con 2012.

BTW,
I won a huge collectible toy during the TOYCON presscon. I’m no die-hard toy or
anime fan, but after attending the TOYCON presscon held recently, I am
beginning to get curious what it is about toys and cosplayers that makes the
crowd go crazy. I vow to see for myself so I’ve made a decision, I will be
coming to the TOYCON 2012! See you there!
The
11th Philippine TOYCON 2012 will be open to retailers on June 15,
2012 (Friday) and will be made open to the public on June 16 and 17, from 10AM
to 9PM, at the 5th level of SM Megamall, Megatrade Halls 1,2,3.
