C2 Sarap ng Christmas Tree-Making Contest Awarding Night: NCBA-Fairview Wins the Grand Prize


C2 Cool and Clean, the Philippines' most trusted and well-loved ready-to-drink bottled brewed green tea beverage recently held its first ever C2 Sarap ng Christmas Tree-Making Contest where a total of nineteen colleges/universities participated but only ten made it to the finals. The said contest aimed to bring a relevant and memorable Christmas experience to everyone. 

Schools from all over the metro were invited to be creative and build their own Christmas trees using hundreds of used C2 bottles in less than a month. Entries were judged based on the following criteria: adherence to the C2 Sarap ng christmas theme (40%); creative execution (30%) and technical execution (30%). "C2 has always been at the forefront of supporting the youth and encouraging them to adopta healthy lifestyle,"said Vice President and General Manager for Universal Robina Corporation Beverage Division, Edwin Totanes. "We hope that through the C2 Christmas Tree Making Contest, we're able to showcase the artistic talents of these young students and at the same time remind them that a healthy mind and body is the best gift you can give yourself this Holiday Season."



C2 Sarap ng Christmas Tree Making Contest culminating activity and awarding of prizes was held at the Market! Market! Fountain Area where the colorful and creative C2 Christmas Tree entries were on display. It was such a delightful experience to see these youngsters sense of originality and ingenuity what with bright, artistic and awesome recycled C2 Christmas Trees they've made! Some entries even made use of black lights, moving/spinning objects, waterfall-like cascading designs, others added Filipino flair on their designed tree while another entry put a creative spin on the traditional Christmas tree.

The board of judges were composed of Ms. Viveca Singson, Corporate Communications Manager of JG Summit, Ms. Cat Velayo, Account Director of PC and V, Mr. Marc Acosta, Manager, Universal Robina Corporation, Marketing Services Group, Ms. Carla Chavez, Marketing Manager, URC Beverages-Tea Category and the chairman of the board of judges, Mr. Edwin Totates,VP and General Manager for URC Beverage Division. 



In the end, the 2nd runner up went to Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) Supreme Student Council who went home with Php25,000 cash prize and an endowment of Php15,000 to the school while the Philippine Women's University (PWU) Student Choir emerged as the 1st runner up spot and received Php50,000 cash prize and an endowment of Php25,000 for their school. But the biggest winner of all goes to the National College of Business and Arts-Fairview Quezon City Hotel and Restaurant Management Society who emerged as the Grand Prize Winner and received Php75,000 cash and Php30,000 endowment to the school. Nobody went home empty handed though, as all the 10 finalists had received Christmas gift packs from C2 Cool and Clean. 

"We became really emotional upon hearing our group's name. We're so happy that we won! Our C2 Christmas Tree was truly a product of sweat, blood and tears. Our group went through a lot before we were able to finish our C2 Christmas Tree entry. And since all the entries we're really good, we didn't think we had a chance of winning, but we're so amazed that we did!," said a member of the Grand Prize winning entry from the NCBA-Fairview HRM Society. 


The night ended with the winners celebrating their victory over bottles of their favorite refreshing C2 in its two latest variants, Red Tea and Iced Tea. Kampai!
