Jollibee re-launches 'I Love You Sabado' jingle to promote family bonding

I practically grew up with Jollibee. As a child, I always look forward to weekends because that’s synonymous to our weekend ‘mom and child bonding.’ My Mom being a single parent goes to work on weekdays so Saturdays + Sundays (after hearing mass) are the only time she spent with me. I could relate well with Jollibee’s “I Love You Sabado” TVC jingle released in the late 80’s with then child actor Boy 2 Quizon. The said jingle is considered as one of the most well-loved and successful campaigns of the fast food giant. It has left an LSS in most Filipinos. Now, Jollibee’s #ILoveYouSabado campaign continues to inspire families to make the most of their weekends by spending quality time with one another.

Jollibee, the country’s leading fast food chain is reviving the song we all grew up. The brand promotes the joy of family and in bringing back to life this campaign, they believe that the jingle’s message still holds true even up to this day. “Amid the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we want to reinforce the importance of reserving weekends and pursuing our passions with the people who matter most—our family,” said Jollibee vice president for Marketing, Harvey Ong.

There were games and fun activities aside from the langhap-sarap meals we’ve all grown to love, Jollibee ambassadors and mascots also graced the grand launch. Yumbassadors Kiefer Ravena, Arnold Van Opstal, and Alyssa Valdez joined the fun at Jollibee New Las Pinas, rock icon and The Voice Philippines Coach Bamboo Manalac brought the house down at Jollibee E. Rodriguez. The Voice Kids grand finalists and Jollibee Kids Club endorsers JK Labajo, Lyca Gairanod and Darlene Vibares delighted their fans at Jollibee Iba, Zambales, San Pablo Plaza and Parklane Mandaue respectively. The TVK stars also rendered their own “I Love You Sabado” renditions. Jollibee Talomo Davao was graced by up and coming star Emmanuelle Vera.

“Jollibee is going all-out on this campaign in line with our goal of engaging even more Filipino families across the country. We will make this a yearly advocacy by enjoining the whole nation to celebrate every first weekend of July thereafter as a National Family Bonding Weekend. Then and now, this is what our brand proudly stands for,” said Ong.

And true enough, for a loyal Jollibee aficionados like me, it’s nice to see Moms (who were kids back then when the  original ‘I Love You Sabado’ jingle was made) enjoying their meals + bonding with kids of their own now at Jollibee.
