The world's most popular culinary contest takes centerstage as it conquers Asia and the Philippines, with the premiere of MasterChef Asia in LIFETIME beginning September 3 at 9PM. Fifteen home cooks from across the region are out to test their kitchen skills and talents in the hope of becoming the first title holder in Asia and the good news is that three Filipinos are also vying for the title, all in the name of national pride. So Pinoys really had to watch out for this show to root for our kababayans!

Filipinos Jake Aycardo, Lica Ibarra and Rico Amancio are set for an explosive battle with fellow amateur cooks from China, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. They are set to be mentored and judged by some of the best culinary whiz in the region including multi-awarded genius Chef Susur Lee, Michelin-starred Chef Burno Menard, and former MasterChef Australia finalist Audra Morrice.

MasterChef Asia promises exciting episodes of thrilling culinary journey as it shows face-offs among the contestants. The show brings the rich and exotic qualities of Asian cuisines to the fore. It also serves as an excellent avenue to explore the different culinary traditions and expertise as each contestant brings. There will surely be exciting and delicious new discoveries.

"MasterChef Asia is the biggest original production we've ever undertaken on Lifetime Asia. Producing one of the world's successful formats is testament to Lifetime being a leading entertainment destination in the region. There is a wonderful range of culinary creations made by the amateur cooks and a lot of moments have moved me to the edge of my seat. With the passion for food we have in Asia, we believe audiences will love the show and root for their favorite contestants," said A+E Networks Senior Vice President for Programming and Production Michele Schofield.

The lucky winner of the competition will receive their very own cookbook, a USD $50,000 cash prize, USD$20,000 worth of leisure experiences in Singapore, USD$15,000 worth of Panasonic home appliances, a paid internship at one of Carlton Hotel Singapore's restaurants, and a one week stay at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
