A smile from the front desk always makes one feel welcome.
I love traveling. I mean, who wouldn’t? I like being whisked off
to a not-so-familiar place and be able to explore it on my own. My only
requirement is that the hotel I’d be staying has to be really good. You see, I
also love reviewing inns or hotels as much as I love to travel. In fact, I’ve
just been to Tagaytay recently to review a hotel. But I’d like to share with
you my recent travel discovery. I was surprised to learn that there’s such an
awesome hotel tucked within the heart of the city that needs to be discovered by fellow
travelers and wanderlusts like me. Have you guys heard of Nichols Airport Hotel? If you haven't, you're probably missing out a LOT! Guess what, I'm here to share with you a little secret that would surely make you excited. Read on...

Antique furnishings that will remind one of your abuela's home. |
|
Spacious hotel lobby to chat with friends or lounge around |
|
My hotel room number |
Strategically located near the four NAIA terminals, Nichols
Airport Hotel provides more than just clean rooms and comfortable beds. They’re
like a home away from home. They actually have more to offer their guests and
clientele. I’ve had a first-hand experience of an overnight stay at Nichols
Airport Hotel. And I just super love the service, as well as their genuinely friendly staff. Staff were
pretty much attentive to our needs even if there were a lot of other guests. I
also appreciate that they really took care of me, I’d be explaining about that in a bit. But I've got nothing but good words for the staff's service and the hotel itself. For one, this is the only hotel that's right beside a hospital. What makes it so special? Well, you can be assured of your health when something like an accident [of course, no one would want to experience this, but it's always best to be safe than sorry.] happens, say, a cardiac arrest or you simply don't feel well. At least, the hospital is just around the corner.
|
My uber comfy bed. |
It was my first time
when I stayed here. And for that matter, my first impression was zero
disagreement or refusal of this place. It was all very clear and definite,
positive observation.
|
Another factor I liked is this huge couch inside which could also be used as a bed. |
Nichols Airport Hotel's location is very
accessible. Knowing it's in the heart of the city, you can go easily to any
place you like. "Anytime, anywhere." What’s so nice is that they
offer free shuttle service to their in-house guests. Just tell the front desk officer about it and they’d be willing to assist you at no extra cost. Say for example,
you’d want to go shopping at the SM Mall of Asia nearby, or perhaps bring you
to and from the airport. Speaking of such, I'd like to commend the front desk people because they are very accommodating. They listen and in fairness, they are attentive to
guests.
|
Flat screened TV with cable channels and two chairs |
The room was very
spacious (the bathroom too) and clean, well furnished. There was one Queen Bed
and still lots of space for moving around. There were also numerous electrical
outlets around the room, so charging my devices was convenient. The room was
well lighted. The bed was comfortable. I was surprised with
the room I had for a night. I fell in love with it. It was huge and certainly
clean. I loved how cozy it was.
|
Round the clock security and services with just a ring. |
The common area
(corridor, lobby, etc.) were all well maintained and adequately lighted.
|
Clean shower room and toilet with bidet and flush |
I had enjoyed my stay very much. Comfortable bed and pillows,
clean linens, clean rug. Bathroom is also clean. Well, everything’s good except
maybe for the bathroom door which needed some repair because they couldn’t be
properly locked. Other than that particular flaw, everything's perfect during my stay.
|
Lavatory has free toiletries: toothbrush, soap, shampoo and conditioner sachets and tumbler. |
|
Two huge bath towels for you to use. |
Wifi in the room was surprisingly good. I had no problem getting work done. Cable TV was also good. Plus they've had complete toiletries too.
|
24 hours hot and cold water for shower. |
|
Toiletries ready for you to use. |
I've also tried their spa treatments too. I've had the luxury of a Papaya body scrub and a Swedish massage. But I don't want to share with you such "me-time" moment of pampering myself. Plus I reckon, those moments are reserved for myself alone. But rest assured, the massage was superb! I had a lot of fun and I was able to relax and rest well. Anyway, you guys can have your chance to experience what I've had experienced because I do have a simple surprise later. Let me tell you more about it...
|
The City of Dreams is right behind the building. |
|
Ms. Riza dela Fuente, the hotel's president and proprietor |
The cozy interiors of their Coffee Shop are
modeled after an old Filipino home, so having a meal here feels just like
visiting your Abuela’s[Lola] house for a fun family reunion. Reminisce about
the good old days and make new memories over a plate of their specialties. Food
was great at their Coffee Shop. They’ve got an array of carefully chosen
comfort foods to begin with.
|
Warm cup of freshly brewed coffee will surely make your day. |
The one who handles the kitchen was absorbed
from a former popular restaurant called Dona Nena’s in Paranaque. They’ve got
amazing comfort foods such as Callos a la Madrilena, Steak Charlemagne, Gambas a
la Molinera and Steamed orange Lapu-lapu.
|
Coffee Shop's The Clubhouse sandwiches |
|
Comforting Pumpkin soup |
Although I don’t drink alcohol or any liquor
for that matter but friends could testify that the wine and drinks at the rooftop
cocktail bar were also good. The hotel's management and staff were equally
attentive and accommodating.
|
Gambas a la Molinera |
|
Callos a la Madrilena |
Breakfast selection was adequate (It usually comprises of staple Filipino breakfast). Service was prompt. You've got to try their coffee and fresh garden Nichols salad with vinaigrette dressing. They're really good.
|
Fresh Nichols Green salad with vinaigrette |
|
Best-selling Pancit Canton |
|
Classic favorite: Steak Charlemagne |
|
Canonigo |
|
Caramelized banana |
Going back to my story about the staff being so attentive to guests, upon learning that I'm diabetic, instead of serving
me with the desserts, they’ve given me fresh fruits instead. So instead of the
Canonigo and caramelized banana as desserts which they've served other guests, I’ve had two pieces of peeled sweet ponkans
and sliced banana instead. Aren't they the sweetest? I really appreciate the care and attention they've given me. I felt so special. These are the rare kind of service you'd see in hotels.

Ponkans and banana |

During your stay, be sure to check out
the rooftop bar of Nichols Airport Hotel. It probably has the best al fresco scenery.
With 360 degrees of different views from the Makati City Skyline, to the Pasay
area, the NAIA terminal [where one will simply be awed at plane spotting]
runway to the Manila’s eye-catching buildings and view. The balcony view was
amazing. I felt like I was somewhere else when in fact I was just there, right
in the heart of the city. In fact, during my overnight stay, I had the chance to watch SM Mall of Asia's pyrotechnics display at the roofdeck while sipping on a glass of Coke Zero.
|
Fireworks are seen well at night. |
If you ask me, Nichols Airport Hotel's hidden gem--the hotel's roofdeck is actually a great place to propose marriage to the one you love. Imagine proposing under the stars, with the fantastic and breathtaking view as your background, amidst some violin music, that would be an awesome way to ask her hand in marriage, right? Any girl would surely be swept off her feet when a guy she loves asks her hand in marriage. Awww....thinking about it alone is enough to make me go swoon! If you're not the romantic kind, you could enjoy plane spotting under the starry sky. Yeah, they've really got the best view in Manila, they're only waiting for you to discover them. And since you're reading my blog, you're one of those lucky few people who know about them too. I'm giving you the privilege to spread the word to your family and friends. Because I can assure you that once they see the roofdeck, they'd fall in love with it too.
|
Plane spotting is a common thing in here at Nichols Hotel. |
Overall, I found my stay
here pleasant. I would highly recommend for my fellow travelers to stay here at
Nichols Airport Hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and the service, once again
is impeccable. The staff are courteous and very accommodating. I’d say that
this hotel would be a perfect place to stay when you are in Pasay or Paranaque area. Check
out the surrounding restaurants in the area and your trip will surely be a
great one.
And here's the surprise, in celebration of my blog's sixth anniversary and pre-Valentine's treat, I'll be giving away a chance for you to join me in an overnight stay at Nichols Airport Hotel. My family would greatly appreciate an overnight staycation at Nichols Airport Hotel so we can bond together and relax after the holiday pressures and school exams. We want to be introduced to this hidden gem of a hotel that can recommend to our balikbayan relatives when our whole family finally visits DreamPlay in City of Dreams, Paranaque.

I very seldom see my entire family because we all live in different parts of the country, so if I win this staycation, it would qive us a chance to bond with each other and catch up. Nichols Hotel would be ideal since it is near the airport so we can save on travel time and have more hours to be with one another. We'd also share our experiences to our relatives and friends so they will also experience the amenities and services at Nichols Hotel.

Metro Manila is our happy place. We moved to Bacolod last May 2015 and we are missing the food, shopping and friends we left behind. Would love to go back and spend our vacation there and why Nichols Airport hotel? I just love its location. I know we would be able to maximize our time while being there because it won't be eaten up by the crazy traffic going from and to NAIA.

My family and I deserve to win an overnight staycation with free set breakfast for four (4) and that includes spa massage treatments too at Nichols Airport Hotel because last year, we weren't able to fulfill my daughter's wish to visit Dreamplay at City of Dreams on her birthday due to his dad's busy schedule and luck of budget too. This prize will be a great surprise not only for my kids but for my busy husband too.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to experience a free staycation with my family to feel relax and stress-free even just for a day or two!
Thanks for the chance! God bless! -*hoping* *crossfingers*-
