Little-Known Facts about Using Tampons and Why You Must Give it a Try
An
average woman according to research uses about 10,000 sanitary products during
her lifetime, it makes sense that researchers and women are giving serious
consideration to their menstrual management methods. It’s actually a
good thing that nowadays, Filipinas have become more open when it comes to
using the different methods in dealing with Aunt Flo’s (a euphemism referring to the menstrual cycle) monthly
visit. Although admittedly, growing up, I had only been introduced to sanitary
pads. It’s not that I hadn’t heard of tampons but rather there were so many
misconceptions I had of them. And if it hadn’t been to a recent invitation by
Platex Philippines, I wouldn’t have gotten to know the advantages of using
tampons. The said event helped me to open my eyes and assured me that all my
fears about using tampons were unfounded.
I
learned that it is more convenient to use tampons down there. But because most
Filipina women had this misconception about tampons, there’s a lot of untrue
and unnecessary fears that held us from trying to use them. During the said event, an OB-Gyne specialist gave a small lecture about how to properly deal with menstrual period, personal hygiene and the advantages of giving tampons a try.

spirited and talented men and women as this year’s official candidates for the
Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines pageant, co-presented by Oriental Group and
the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Incorporated.
Now on its 3rd year, the coveted
search in the Chinese-Filipino community has come down to 15 boys and 15 girls,
ages 18 to 26 years old, who personify unity
in diversity and an effort to stay true to opulent traditions while
adapting to the changing times.
In what is set to be a month-long journey,
the candidates will compete to represent the excellence of the Chinese-Filipino
youth in areas such as leadership, the arts, entrepreneurship and academics. Two
will emerge as ultimate victors who will each be taking home 500,000 pesos
worth of prizes.
Timely challenges in relations between two

beauty and charisma. More importantly, the Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Philippines
2016 candidates will be endorsing an advocacy of oneness and a developed sense
of belonging at a time they are needed the most.
This pageant serves as an eye-opener, that
through the union of two cultures and making the best of both, there can be
unity in diversity. “By emphasizing this advocacy, we can expect more from the
candidates this year in terms of their vision and commitment throughout the
course”, promises Alvin Kingson Tan, President of Fil-Chi Media Productions.

Swish Breath Spray Product Review
Last week, I received a Swish gift pack from the bloggermail courtesy of Unilab. The gift pack contains Swish Breath Spray products to help fight
bad breath. After trying it out for days, I've decided to come up with a product review.
If you don't floss and
brush your teeth regularly, any food trapped between your teeth will be
broken down by the bacteria and may be responsible for bad breath. Bacteria can also
live on the rough surface of your tongue. As well as brushing your
teeth, cleaning your tongue can also help control bad breath.

Jam and Dance Concert featuring FBC Rebirth Band with guests Nonoy Zuñiga and Pauline Cueto at RJ Bistro this July 20!
In celebration of RJ Bistro’s 30th anniversary, a
special show will be held dubbed as Jam & Dance will be featuring FBC Rebirth Band with special guests OPM-hitmaker Nonoy Zuñiga and upcoming teen
singer Pauline Cueto. Family Birth Control band (now known as FBC Rebirth band)
was the group that has launched pop icon Nonoy Zuñiga’s career as a singer. It
was the band that catapulted him to stardom. Unbeknownst to many, Nonoy was
part of the original members of FBC band even before he lost his right limb
during the Martial Law era. And for someone who’s been in the industry for
years, it’s nice to know that Nonoy, despite going solo and gaining accolades
on his own, he continues to jam with his old band whenever he has time. This is
quite rare for such an amazing talent like Nonoy. No wonder, he’s one of the
best OPM icons to date.

Allied Against Dengue Movement: DOH and GSK launch dengue awareness campaign
I honestly didn’t know anything about
dengue until I came down with the said illness one unfortunate holiday about
six years ago. At the time, I wasn’t really concerned about mosquitoes nor
dengue fever itself until I started to experience the symptoms myself. It
started off as a mild headache and then fever that never seemed to go away. I
also didn’t know I had a rash of tiny red spots over my legs because during my
illness, I was wearing my pajamas all the time. The fever was awful but the
worst thing was the headache. It was the worst headache I’d ever had, like
torture. Painkillers didn’t have any effect and it was worse when I tried to
sleep. So I got no sleep at all, which was so horrible. I suffered for three
nights before I sought medical help.
The doctors gave me the usual lab and blood
tests. At first, they were unable to confirm the dengue virus, in fact
according to the first diagnosis what I had was simply urinary track infection.
They told me to come back in two days if I wasn’t feeling better and that I
take paracetamol. And then later on, the tests did confirmed it was dengue.
Luckily, I didn’t have any dangerous complications. The thing with me was I
didn’t want to be confined in a hospital. (This isn't something I'd really recommend, okay. But this is my personal choice.)So I signed a waiver instead and
promised my physician I’d closely be monitored by my mother. There were only
three reminders for me to bear in mind: 1. I need to drink a lot of water. And
when I say tons and gallons of water, I really meant a LOT! 2. I need to have a
full rest. 3. Last but not the least, I had to make sure that when something
bleeds (i.e. my gums ), I’d have to rush myself to the ER.

Midea iAdd Washing Machines thought of everything for their consumers
Press release: Home is
a sanctuary and the moments spent there are precious. It is where the family
gets its much needed downtime, to play with the children and settle to
recharge. That is why it is important that the home must achieve the ideal
living conditions, free from worrying about consuming too much time and energy
on chores and tasks.
“When we set to bring the brand in,
what we really looking for is not just selling boxes, not just selling
products. It’s really about studying the consumer, looking at the pressures,
the problems of the Filipino consumers and come up with solutions that would
say, ‘look this would make home chores easier for you’,” Trapaga explains. “One
of the insights that I got is that can we should stop talking about the
technology and start talking about the benefits. And teach the consumers how
they can have a more worry-free life.”

My Tarot Card Reading Experience with Feng Shui Master Hanz Cua
A deck of Tarot Cards |
Shrouded in
mystery and steeped in legend, astrology, feng shui, charms, divination
practices and tarot card readings have been scattered throughout human history
for centuries. Even in modern times, just as many have been disproved and
tossed aside, we’ve learned that there is merit to some. Purple Plum Fairy was
privileged to have a one-on-one Tarot card reading session with Master Hanz Cua,
Asia’s youngest and celebrity Feng Shui master. Before I go on further on what
happened during my tarot reading session, allow me to tell a few more things
about him.

If he looks
familiar to you, then you must’ve seen one of his huge billboards on EDSA or
you’ve seen him on TV as he appears on ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda daily. I’m
sure his name also rings a bell because he also has a special segment on a
radio show called Wanted Sweetheart on Barangay LS 97.1 with Papa Dan.
