Product Review: How Gemz Lip Balms makes my dry lips moisturized

Ever since a brand of imported lip balms in spherical shape burst onto the scene a few years back, I have been wanting to try one. Intrigued by the shape, the amazing claims of super soft lips from the blends of oils, vitamins and butters I was one eager beaver. But I found it too expensive for my usual ‘beauty budget.’ Fortunately, I stumbled upon another brand called Gemz Lip Balms and it looked exactly as that imported popular one (this is also imported), only this time this is more affordable in terms of price as compared to the first one. It also comes in the same spherical shape with 6 lovely scents/fruity flavours to choose from. They've got Citrine Lemon, Mint Zircon, Emerald Pineapple, Peach Moostone, and Ruby Strawberry. They're packed with antioxidants like Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil. The best part? They are guaranteed to be gluten-free, hypoallergenic, dermatologists tested and are not tested on animals.

I have been using Gemz Lip Balms everyday so now I'm ready to share with you my thoughts about it. Read on...

I like Gemz Lip Balms. I enjoy the spherical cute packaging which is easy to slip onto your pocket and convenience too. The scent is pleasant and for the amount of the product you get, I think it's a pretty good alternative to the more expensive brand of lip balm of the same shape. Sold at a little less than a hundred bucks (SRP is pegged at Php100-Php120 each) if you purchase an entire box of a dozen gemz, you'll be saving Php20 per lippie. You can resell them or give them away to friends, I'm pretty sure they will also love it!

As the holiday approaches, so does our lip balm addiction. I beat the cold holiday season and habitually dry and chapped lips by constantly re-applying on lip balms. I justify my need of having more than one of these Gemz Lip balms as it contains SPF 15 (sun protection factor) which protects my lips from getting burned. The flavor/scent maybe lemon-y and blueberry but it does not have  sugary sweetness to it although you can tell it's lemon and blueberry scented.

Gemz Lip Balm's promise (what it says on their packaging): Give your lips a healthy boost with this all-natural, antioxidant-rich lip balm that is filled with refreshing blueberry, mint and lemon flavors.  Gemz lip balms are 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, Gemz lip balm keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

During the holidays, I cannot let a day go by without moisturizing my skin that includes my lips. My lips tends to chap and crack very easily therefore I need to hoard as many lip balms as I can and if you are like me who has a love for collecting lip balms, you cannot let this little darling of a product slip away. This is a must-have for every collector.

Gemz Lip Balm in Blueberry Amethyst

I must admit I wanted this product just for the packaging.  The sphere shape with a smooth texture feels so good and luxurious. The packaging does feel like a cheap plastic.  The cap is opened by twisting it like a cap of a bottle and it closes with a click therefore you can be sure that it is secure . The ball packaging though it’s not as sleek and compact as the regular stick lip balms, it is still travel friendly if you don’t mind it occupying extra space in your purse. The size is perfect to fit in your hands and the application is very easy too. The bottom part is flattened out so that it is able to stand on its own on your vanity, so no tension of the ball rolling away!

Gemz Lip Balm is sure to be your pocket’s new best friend. Made purely from protective beeswax, healthy Vitamin E and moisturising shea butter and jojoba oil, it clings to the lips without the need for constant topping up. Unlike many sticks, it is not overly waxy, and glides on with a subtle plant-like taste. The naked balm comes in attractive pastel colored packaging, with peppermint, lemon, pineapple, blueberry, peach  and starwberry flavours also available, all fragranced only with finest natural oils. It’s a steal for the price.

I highly recommend it for anyone struggling with painfully cracked lips as its efficiency is clinically proven and its formula tolerable even for the most sensitive skin. Soothing ingredients reduces redness and calms stinging as it works intensely moisturizing. There is no color and only a slight medical taste while the packaging is uber cute yet compact enough to fit in your jeans pocket. For a product that really works, it’s a bargain.
The slick and modern sphere design eliminates the problem of sticky hands by coating both lips in soft, 95 per cent organic balm with one quick application. It is small but easy to find in your bag thanks to its unique shape and colourful packaging, which is recyclable.
Gemz Lip balm encourages healthy cell renewal to actually solve the problem of chapped lips, thanks to generous doses of jojoba oil, shea butter and rejuvenating vitamins. Silky soft, it glides onto the lips – the downside is that it leaves behind a creamy white sheen, but this can easily be covered up with lip colour if it bothers you. Use overnight for gloriously soft lips in the morning.
This spherical shaped replenishing lip balm is made of absorbent fatty acids that are harder to lick off than many oils and waxes, offering impressive all-day protection. Its smart, modern packaging and lack of color tint gives it unisex appeal, as does its finish – spread generously over lip colour for a shine. Though heavy in feel, the gel is non-greasy and absorbent and leaves one ready for his or her closeup smile.
I instantly loved it and all it's sweet fruity-scentedness. I also appreciate a nice domed applicator that glides over the top and bottom lip in one go without using your fingers. Plus there's just something about the shape and packaging I love.

I’m usually the type of person who has to reach for my lip balm 10 times a day, but this is so long-lasting that I put it on once in the morning, once after I eat lunch, and then once before bed. I honestly don’t know how it lasts so long — and it’s not just that it keeps my lips moisturized for that long, but I can actually feel the product still on my lips that whole time.

Overall, I think this product is as functional as it should be, but it definitely has a charming look. No, I do not regret having this in my collection. It works great in hydrating my lips for both summers and cold holidays when my lips are prone to all that drying, windburn and chapping.
