National Bookstore College (NBS College) was established in
honor of the well-loved bookstore’s founder, Mrs. Socorro Cancio-Ramos, more
popularly-known as “Nanay Coring.” It was inspired by her passion to promote
education and continuously help in making sure that the youth of today will
grow in both wisdom and age. Thus, NBS
College was built to continue the legacy.
NBS College was incorporated with five people spearheading
its operation who share in the same advocacy and passion to produce great
leaders and professionals who will make a difference in our society. They’d
like to instill generosity of spirit, goodness, and kindness in its academic
community.
The College now occupies the 3rd and 4th
floor of the National Book Store Building at the corner of Quezon Avenue and
Scout Borromeo in Quezon City. It used to be occupied by a department store
called “Crossings.”

NBS College initially offers six different courses for the
upcoming school year, SY: 2018-2019: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science

My nephew who’s moving up to Grade 11 this coming school
year is still undecided about what he wanted to pursue in the future. He still
doesn’t know what education strand he wants to pursue. He’s fickle minded
lately because one minute he’d say he wants to pursue culinary, then
criminology and later a career in information technology or perhaps animation.
My advice for Kyle is that he must think about it seriously.
He must also weigh on what particular things he likes and dislikes and where he
excels as well as what are his waterloo. As for me, my main role is to fully
equip him with the things he needs for middle school. I’m here to support him
in whatever education strand he wishes to pursue.
Since it will only be a couple of years before Kyle plunges into college, I decided to check out what's at NBS College so that it might just be one of our options for Kyle's college education in the near future.
One thing I've found out, NBS College is conducive to learning. Check out the classrooms as well as the ratio of students per class.
