Sports drinks can be helpful if you are planning on exercising at higher than normal levels for more than an hour. It contains carbohydrates and electrolytes that can increase your energy. It helps your body absorb water. However, some sports drinks are high in calories from added sugar. They also may contain high levels of sodium (salt). Check the serving size on the label. One bottle usually contains more than one serving. Some sports drinks contain caffeine, too. Remember that a safe amount of caffeine to consume each day is between 200 and 300 mg (milligrams).

Acquiring optimal nutrition poses a huge challenge for most of us. With numerous fast foods, fast-paced life and sedentary lifestyle—it’s really quite difficult to attain all the good healthy stuff there is. Most often than not, even drinking 8 glasses of water daily may seem impossible for us to do. But rehydration is very important. Amway’s Nutrilite PhytoPowder answers our most common problem for hydration.
According to a research made by the World Health Organization (WHO), 60-87 percent of men and women globally do not meet the recommended minimum of five servings (400 grams per day) of the recommended dietary fruits and vegetables.
Amway’s Nutrilite PhytoPowder is a hydration, nutrition, and
supplementation in a single drink. It is made with active people in mind for
easy oral rehydration. No other drink in the market offers the benefits of
Nutrilite PhytoPowder. It comes in convenient, easy to carry foil stick, so you
can take it anywhere. Just add water.

I remember how my best friend almost died of dehydration
somewhere in Europe. She was then working as a destination specialist and got
so pre-occupied with a lot of things that she had forgotten to rehydrate
herself well enough. She had collapsed
in the middle of work and had to be taken to the hospital where she was
confined for days. Of course, nobody would have thought that someone would be
hospitalized simply because of dehydration alone.
Each time we work, we sweat. When we have diarrhea, we lose
not just water but the ability to retain water. We lose electrolytes that
allows the human body to retain water.
Some people are at higher risk of dehydration, including people who exercise at a high intensity (or in hot weather) for too long, have certain medical conditions (kidney stones, bladder infection), are sick (fever, vomiting, diarrhea), are pregnant or breastfeeding, are trying to lose weight, or are not able to get enough fluids during the day. Older adults are also at higher risk. As you get older, your brain may not be able to sense dehydration. It doesn’t send signals for thirst.
Water makes up more than half of your body weight. You lose water each day when you go to the bathroom, sweat, and even when you breathe. You lose water even faster when the weather is really hot, when you are physically active, or if you have a fever. Vomiting and diarrhea can also lead to rapid water loss. If you don’t replace the water you lose, you can become dehydrated.
Electrolytes are chemicals that form ions in body fluids. They help make sure specific bodily functions run at optimal levels. Too few electrolytes will cause the body to cramp. Cramping can make a big difference on race day. So how do we prevent cramping and keep our body running at its peak performance levels? We keep it supplied with the needed amount of electrolytes. Proper fueling during exercise requires more than replenishing calories and fluids; it involves consistent and adequate electrolyte support as well. Electrolyte needs vary much more than either caloric or hydration needs. Electrolyte are analogous to the motor oil in your car--they don't make the engine run, but they're absolutely necessary to keep everything running smoothly. Proper functioning of the digestive, nervous, cardiac, and muscular systems depends on adequate electrolyte levels.
However, what most people don't know is that apart from
water and electrolytes, we also lose water soluble vitamins during the course of
the day, more so when we are active, among these are vitamins, such as Vitamin
B Complex, and Vitamin C. That is why so
many swear that water soluble vitamin supplements are a great hangover
remedy. A hangover, is essentially the
result of dehydration, and water soluble vitamin supplementation partially
addresses the dehydration by replacing lost vitamins.

According to Ms. Davies, Nutrilite's PhytoPowder is currently the only one of its kind in the Philippines that has red orange complex. Nutrilite PhytoPowder has 50 milligrams of Red Orange Complex per scoop. Developed by Bionap, Red Orange Complex consists of the powdered extract of three varieties of Italian blood oranges, Moro, Sanguinello and Tarocco. The compound is rich in phytochemicals such as flavanones, anthocyanins and hydroxycinnamic acids that may inhibit the activity of free radicals naturally produced during exercise. A study published in Nutrition Research in 2009 demonstrated that athletes experienced less free radical damage when taking Red Orange Complex.
Nutrilite's PhytoPowder isa healthy beverage that addresses dehydration while providing important water soluble Vitamin replenishment at the same time.
PhytoPowder is also packed with phytonutrient and fiber enhanced. Phytonutrients are plant based compounds with
myriad benefits that were first identified by Nutrilite founder Carl Rhenborg
in 1934. Phytonutrients are powerful
antioxidants, and have been found to have color specific benefits. The color of the plant from which a
particular Phytonutrient is extracted determines what benefits it
delivers.
