Discovering the wonders of Bioherb Food Supplement—The all-natural and effective way to manage Diabetes

Four years ago, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Since the disease was asymptomatic (meaning, it doesn’t have much symptoms), I never even knew I had it, but I had type II diabetes and it was irreversible. How did I found out I had diabetes? It was simple. My right eye bled (out of too much stress at the time) from my previous work and my ex narcissistic boyfriend. I had to undergo pan retinal photocoagulation (that’s eye laser for you) twice and to be honest, my eye doctor explains, “Parang winelding lang natin yung retina mo. Sunog na yung lahat ng bahagi niya. So you’re not allowed to do anything physically exhausting like jumping, running and carrying heavy objects—otherwise, your retina might get detached and you might go blind.” Can you imagine how I felt after being told I have proliferative diabetic retinopathy? I was also told that if my lifestyle will not change, I might eventually go blind even before I turned 50. If you were in my shoes, what would have been your reaction then?

Glucometer is every diabetic's best buddy
Sadly, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), one out of every five Filipinos has diabetes. By the year 2030, WHO predicts that the Philippines will be among the top 10 countries with the most people suffering from this chronic disease. So I had to learn to live my life with maintenance medicines at the age of 35. I even had an expensive eye drop (an anti-glaucoma) which I had to use twice a day to make sure my eye pressure won’t go that high.

JOHN LLOYD CRUZ FIRST ENDORSEMENT APPEARANCE AFTER 2 YEARS IS HE COMING BACK TO THE LIMELIGHT?

John Lloyd Cruz enjoys eating his favorite snack, Turks' Shawarma

Photos and videos of matinee idol John Lloyd Cruz have been surfacing after being on hiatus from the showbusiness since 2017.

Cruz, one of the most bankable actors of the Philippine cinema and very effective endorser once again proved that his fans are still waiting for his return. In a teaser video, which lasted only for a few seconds and only shows the back shot of Cruz’s, and posted in the Facebook page of the number one selling shawarma Turks a few weeks ago had been viewed 3.2M times, shared almost 800 times and gained a huge number of comments.

Without any clue in that teaser video, his fans already assumed that it was him in the video. Actress Bea Alonzo on her Instagram also posted a screenshot of that teaser video, which garnered almost a million likes.

This Monday morning Turks finally revealed in the 1-minute and 17 seconds video of Cruz showing the actor walking through different destinations, which somehow depicts Cruz’s sojourn. The video is very simple, yet there’s drama the way it was created, and in a very subtle shot, he stopped and took a bite of a Turks pita donner.

The rugged look of Cruz in the Turks video titled Ang Pagbabalik is way too far from his guy-next-door image and a lot of people in the industry are asking if this signals his return to the limelight. His fans are still wondering about the life he’s been living since his hiatus.

According to Turks president Gem L. Zenarosa that during the course of his talks with Cruz, they never talked anything about his showbiz career or plans. He added that he got Mr. Cruz as the latest ambassador of Turks because of his great confidence working with Cruz.

“I am really grateful that John Lloyd trusts our company, he is a brilliant and very creative young man. Aside from acting we have discovered some of his remarkable talents,” Zenarosa stressed.

The Ang Pagbabalik according to Zenarosa is actually about Turks Small Pita Doner, which will be available again in all its branches.

Turks Small Pita Doner

“John Lloyd is the best endorser for this because like him, despite his absence in the showbusiness for a couple of years, the warmth and love of his fans for him never dwindles. With our Small Pita Doner we believe that our customers will be happy to know that it is back in our menu,” Zenarosa explained.

Just like Cruz who is seen to have a different image since he last appeared in the big screen, a clear indication that the actor is recreating himslef and exploring different grounds, Turks is also doing the same thing to keep its customers excited whenever they visit a branch.

In  time for the release of Cruz's endorsement video, Turks also released to the market its newest offering --- Turks Rice Bowl, which is a complete meal. You can choose beef or chicken for your rice topping, and it is priced at P50. The Small Pita Donner on the other hand, is priced at P35.

"To keep up with the demands of our customers, Turks continues to improve our menu and offerings to satisfy the discriminating taste of our loyal patrons," Zenarosa stressed.

John Lloyd Cruz now joins the roster of endorsers of Turks such as Piolo and Inigo Pascual.

Curious how John lloyd looks like nowadays? Find out what how he enjoys Turks for his snack? Check him out on this video:

Kagitingan: Corregidor, Bataan and their heroic legacy

MILE LONG BARRACKS.  Measuring 1, 520 feet, This is reportedly the longest military barracks in the world. During the American Commonwealth and before World War 2, this structure housed some 8,000 U.S. troops. These ruins are all that are left after Japanese forces bombarded the area.

As the Philippines celebrates its heroes –April 7th is Tribute to Veterans Day, and April 9th is Araw ng Kagitingan or National Heroes’ Day -- it is good to remember Corregidor and Bataan. These two places have become synonymous with Filipino and American courage and determination in protecting
our freedom.

Here are some things to recall about these two historical sites:

1) Both Bataan and Corregidor are legendary in the history of war. Despite relentless attacks by Japanese forces in 1942, and without reinforcements coming from the United States, Filipino and American troops fought back for several months.
2) Bataan fought from January 7, 1942 until April 9, 1942 after being overwhelmed by superior Japanese firepower and troop numbers. After some 76,000 Filipino and American troops surrendered, they were forced to walk around 96 to more than 100 kilometers from Bataan to Capas, Tarlac. This was the infamous Bataan Death March.
3) From December 29, 1941 until May 6, 1942, the Japanese Imperial Army attacked Corregidor and dropped thousands of bombs on the island. On May 6, the leader of all US and Filipino Allied forces in Asia, Lt. Gen. Jonathan Wainwright, led his men in their surrender to the Japanese. They fought as long and as hard as humanly possible.
4) Corregidor Island is the site of the Pacific War Memorial. The Memorial has the Dome of Peace, and a sculpture called the Eternal Flame of Freedom. There’s also the Pacific War Memorial Museum that houses World War 2 memorabilia.  It is now considered as the world's biggest war museum.

BATTERY HEARN. This 12-inch (350 mm) artillery gun fired 1,000 pound mortar shells and was the longest gun on Corregidor island. It spun 360 degrees on its rotating platform and launched shells as far as 27 kilometers. It didn't see action during the Corregidor siege because of its position. It's famous because Japanese soldiers took their victory "Banzai!" photo beside this gun.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach makes history as the First Ever Filipino Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong!

2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach with her "twin" wax figure which will be on display at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong
.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach once again made history. After winning the coveted Miss Universe crown back in 2015, Pia Wurtzbach became the very first Filipino wax figure in one of Hong Kong's favorite tourist destinations, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

Guess who the real Pia Wurtzbach is!

The iconic wax figure wears a replica of the Swarovski-embellished royal blue gown ball made by no less than Filipino popular international couturier Michael Cinco, which Pia wore when she passed on the crown in 2016. The dress was said to be tailor-made by the designer himself, saying, "Dressing up her wax figure to represent our country (are) already an honor and a great experience in my career. It is an impalpable dream come true."

So what was Pia's reaction about her being chosen as the very first Filipino wax figure? She said she didn't even think twice about saying yes. She was so honored to be chosen among other Filipino personalities.

"When I found out, I was so excited. I couldn't believe it! In my head, this is something only happens to big stars,"Pia says. "Now, thinking that I'm going to be one of them, I'm very honored, I'm very grateful."
