CacaoMistry Cacao Nibs |
Most of us
loves to eat chocolates unless you’re allergic to it. I’m not allergic but I
don’t know why I’m not particularly fond of chocolates. Even before my
pre-diabetic phase, I’m not really much into sweets [I think I was predisposed
to diabetes because of my genes and due to my love for pasta]. But knowing that
dark chocolates are good for one’s heart, whenever I get the chance, I try to
have some.
So
naturally, when I heard about this handcrafted and locally sourced and produced
organic dark cacao nibs called CacaoMistry, this product piqued my interest
especially when I saw that they were made using the finest ingredients and are
said to be lovingly made for one’s utmost satisfaction. I’ve decided to give it
a try, maybe I’d be able to become a convert and learn to love and appreciate
dark chocolates more.
Cacao nibs
are simply chocolate in its purest form, before anything else is added. They
are dried and fermented bits of cacao beans. The texture of raw organic cacao
nibs is similar to that of roasted coffee beans. They have deep chocolate
flavor which can be described as slightly bitter crunchy and nutty. So if you’re
eating cacao nibs, that means you’re eating the basic component of chocolate
without the high sugary content that most commercialized available chocolate
bars do have.
CacaoMistry
initially offers three variants of Cacao Nibs Coated with dark chocolate
namely: SIMPLY DARK-white dot-cacao nibs coated with dark chocolate; EXCITINGLY
DARK-hot pink dot- spicy cacao nibs coated with dark chocolate and BERRY
DARK-blue dot-cacao nibs and cranberry coated with dark chocolate.
CacaoMistry's Instant Tablea de Batirol |
CacaoMistry
also has their handcrafted instant cacao drink [with orange dot] which is their
instant version of your traditionally enjoyed tablea de batirol. It’s so easy to
do: To enjoy, simply add hot water [about 200 mL], stir for about two minutes
and voila! You’ll have a rich chocolate drink that’s perfect for the upcoming
holiday season [or during rainy days]. It actually reminds me of Christmas
where one can enjoy a warm cup of chocolate while enjoying the nippy cold
weather as you have a good book in hand or having that conversation with your
family.
CacaoMistry's Instant tablea de batirol |
Their
version of the tablea de batirol was so good because it’s just right—not too
sweet, not too rich—but just the right thickness and creamy goodness you’d want
to find in a good quality chocolate drink. In fact, it’s so good you might
think it’s not an instant version of the chocolate tablea de batirol. This
product actually saves you time because making a chocolate drink from the
tablea de batirol requires ample time to be able to make one. CacaoMistry’s
instant cacao drink had the same quality and taste sans the hassle of creating
one. It’s also perfect partner for morning breakfast along with a freshly baked
pan de sal.

Now, what do
I like best about CacaoMistry’s products? They use non-dairy and all are
plant-based ingredients, organic and handcrafted aside from locally produced.
Cacao has
been found and proven to have anti-inflammatory properties and it is also
believed to reduce the risk of diabetes. In fact, raw cacao contains magnesium,
calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium, and manganese. Nutritionists say that
most people have magnesium deficiency.
Cacao Nibs
are also a good source of antioxidants and fiber. Like all chocolate, cacao
nibs also contain some caffeine [but only in small amount].
What do CacaoMistry’s Cacao Nibs Taste Like?
CacaoMistry's dark chocolate nibs |
They’re
crunchy and partly bitter [but the tolerable kind, even kids will love them, I
assure you.], if you’re into dark chocolates though, the nibs don’t taste that
bitter. However, if you’re into very sugary chocolates, it might take a while
for you to get used to its taste.
I love cacao
nibs as an easy snack and a healthy alternative to the usual junk foods and
chips that I eat when I feel like craving.
But I won’t overeat them. They’re full of flavor and tend to fill me up
so quickly. They’re also best for a quick grub to eat especially during long
travels or as a way to cap off every meal for a sweet dessert. Other ways to
eat cacao nibs include using them as a topping on some pastries, ice cream or
sprinkle them in your oatmeal, yoghurt or cereals for a healthy start to the
day.
CacaoMistry’s
cacao nibs is pure cacao goodness in a bag. These affordable and high-quality
cacao nibs taste delicious and they’re packed with antioxidants and nutrients. They
are sourced from small organic farms so you can be assured that each time you
make a purchase you’re actually helping small farmers to sustain their
livelihood. CacaoMistry partners with sustainable, organic farms for sourcing.
Coming from
organic sustainable farms with minimal impact on the environment, these top
cacao nibs are still made affordable. These nibs are higher in fiber than most,
and they come from easy-to-carry packs.

Berry Dark [cranberry coated with dark chocolate] variant is sold at Php46 per
25 grams. Their Cacao Handcrafted Instant Drink is sold at Php58 per pack of 45

and pure cacao from the Philippines.
