Eggs have long been associated with Easter. Easter traditions and symbols have evolved over the years, some even have been around for centuries. The decoration of eggs is believed to have begun as early as the 13th century. The egg may have been associated with pagan festivals but it is a Christian symbol of new life. From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus' resurrection from the dead.
One trivia explains that the tradition of painting the eggs during the Lenten season says that people would decorate and paint on the eggs to mark the end of the period of abstinence and fasting, then eat them on Easter as a way to celebrate.
