The Tuna Festival is an annual event held during the first week of September in General Santos [GenSan] City known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. It is during these times that the largest specimens of this highly valued pelagic fish can be spotted off the coast of GenSan. This festival features a plethora of activities aimed to celebrate everything about tuna, through colorful parades, culinary competitions, exhibits and other activities highlighting the tuna industry. Tuna Festival will surely remind you of the bountiful richness and high biodiversity of the Philippines’ sea.
