Asian Magic Cream vs Egyptian Magic Cream Product Review

Asian Magic Cream and Egyptian Magic Creams

I have been an avid fan of moisturizers because I really have dry to almost dehydrated skin. However, I make sure that before I use any particular product, I would consult my dermatologist first to assure me it’s going to be safe for me to use and had no harmful substances that may affect my sensitive skin. I recently discovered two so-called “magic creams” that may have been made available in the market for years but I wasn’t aware yet until now. I am referring to the Asian Magic Cream and the Egyptian Magic Cream. Both had their own cult following already and I figured it would be nice and interesting to write a product review comparing both magic cream products. So, here’s my two cents on these two awesome beauty magic creams and check it out yourself if you’ve also had the same experiences as I do. Read on…

Asian Magic Cream
I am honestly pretty amazed at how useful both magic creams are. Perhaps it’s the very reason why they were called as such, because they both seemed to work like “magic.” In essence, let me share with you the things I had discovered using both products. I’ve used one product in a month and then the other the next month after. So it actually took a pretty long time before I was able to write a comparison between the two. Allow me to share with you what I have discovered on the many uses of these two magic creams.

HADSAP brings advocacy on nutrition education to where it’s needed most

Amway Phils President Leni Olmedo
One of the most common problems in the Philippines would probably be the lack of nutrition which often leads to a child's stunted growth. Poverty prevents Filipino kids from getting enough nutrition. It is happy to note that there are good companies that does their part in helping out these underprivileged communities. Amway Philippines is one of them. The Health and Dietary Supplement Association of the Philippines (HADSAP) has done its share over the years, to ensure that education on basic nutrition in the Philippines remains ongoing.  This year however, HADSAP decided it was time to cascade that education to those who need it most, young mothers with young families at the grassroots level.

“Typically, kids between the ages one to five the are the most at risk of malnutrition.  That’s where you start, if there are nutrient deficiencies early on in life, then you will have a harder time catching up later on so that’s why you address them during the first five years of life.  So that’s why we targeted moms with young families in particular.” Shared HADSAP President Leni Olmedo, country manager of Amway Philippines.

To kick of these efforts, HADSAP, together with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), and Rotary Club West started a project called “Lodi ang Healthy” at the Signal Village National High school.  An all day nutrition education seminar and workshop for young moms and kids from underprivileged families in the community, “Lodi ang Healthy” is in line with the United Nation’s Millennium Development goals, which include improved maternal health, and reduction of child mortality.

Previously, HADSAP pursued its nutrition education advocacy through larger scale nutrition summits, and while shifting to smaller events at the grassroots level was always a goal, there were challenges that could only be overcome by making the effort multi-sectoral.   “When we organized this, the three of us met:  FNRI, Rotary and HADSAP, we can’t do this alone, if we want to be able to address to the right communities.” explained Olmedo.

Amway Philippines President Leni Olmedo

It was important to the organizations involved that the seminar reach the right audience, particularly home makers: “Because moms do the food preparation at home.  So if you want to ensure that that family gets the most proper nutrition, you address the moms.” Said Olmedo.

Since it was established in 2007, it has been one of the’ (HADSAP) core functions to closely cooperate with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Philippines (FNRI) on matters of the agency’s mandate, which is to improve the state of nutrition of every Filipino through research, and education.
Aside from nutrition education, mom’s and kids who attended “Lodi ang Healthy” took home supplements from HADSAP’s member companies.  HADSAP’s member companies are Amway Philippines, Capsugel, GND International, Total Nutrition, Herbs Express, Herbs and Nature, Nikken, Nu Skin, Splash, Symmetry, and Unicity.

Money Lessons I learned as an Adult

Navigating the world of personal finance can be overwhelming, even for an adult who has quite a bit of experience in the working world. With some smart planning, a good strategy and understanding of the basics you should be able to develop the money-management skills you need to get your finances under control. Handling money is a lot different when you were twenty and single, and when you’ve suddenly become a mom (because I was given the challenge of responsibility in raising my nephew at an early age). Here are a few things I learned about money that I believe are valuable, as well as some fundamental truths of personal finance that everyone should be aware of.

Saving a portion of your paycheck each month will have a big payoff in the future.

Having your own savings will make you feel more secure, knowing that you have a fund that will tide you over in cases of emergency. Ëver since I was kid, I was always taught by my parents to save portion of everything, however small amount. When I started working, I became more frugal with my spending and opted to save most of my salary (they say ideally, it should be at least 80 percent) for those “rainy days.” If you can’t save that much, at least set aside around twenty percent, and make sure to transfer it into separate bank accounts to prevent yourself from accidentally spending your savings.

It’s perfectly okay to want to nice things so long as you can afford it.

As you move up the corporate ladder, your salary also increases. So there’s nothing wrong if you want to dine out, do a little shopping or reward yourself for a job well done. Ï give in to my indulgences on an as-needed basis. I enjoy a few quality and luxury experiences and items once in a while, but nothing too decadent, too often. When you become a mom, these rewards also change in kind, like get-togethers and trips with the family or a date night with hubby (if you're already married).

Investing early is more advantageous because you have more control over your cash flow.

If you start investing in your twenties, your cash will grow through the power of compounding, and the earlier you start, the more years you’ll have to generate earnings. Make your money work for you as soon as you can and as often as you can because you’ll enjoy the much needed dividend payoffs when you become a mom, when your time is limited and when your appetite for risk is far less.

Crustasia Asian Seafood Market Newport Mall Food Review

Crustasia Asian Seafood Market makes a great comeback. It is known as a restaurant that displays the same elements of refinement and delicacy through the concept of fine dining Asian cuisine and dedicated service. Crustasia, is a place that believes in combining great food, cozy ambiance, and impeccable service for a unique dining experience each and every time.

Crustasia Asian Seafood Market restaurant began as humble desire to serve good Asian cuisine by its resident chef and restaurateur Peter Ayson soon grew to be a reputable restaurant that sent food critics into an excited flurry. Chef Ayson's high standards for both himself and his staff allowed different Asian cuisines to penetrate the tough Filipino food market, ultimately establishing an Asian restaurant that would rival the dominant Asian cuisines.

Though a flight to other nearby Asian countries might not exactly be in your travel itinerary in the future, it would be nice to check out the newly opened Crustasia Asian Seafood Market restaurant at the 2nd floor of Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City. Trust us when we say that Crustasia will transport you to Asia's hidden eateries and night market with the kind of foods that they serve.

Yes folks, you don't need to travel far and wide to experience the awesome flavors of different Asian cuisines. Influences from Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Singaporean and Indonesian foods as well as touches of Filipino are in abundance at Crustasia Asian Seafood Market restaurant.

8 Reasons Why iACADEMY Nexus is the Best School for Your Child

Purple Plum Fairy recently went to the open house of iACADEMY Nexus in Yakal Street, Makati City. From afar, I was pretty impressed with the aesthetic of this state-of-the-art educational facility. When I got inside the building and made a tour of its awesome facilities, I learned too that they created intermittent learning spaces that are filled with natural daylight and views of the outdoors. In fact, the design provides unobstructed views of the outdoors in more than 90 percent of the occupied spaces, an important consideration if you ask me since mutiple studies prove that students perform a lot better with natural light and outside views. I guess the people behind iACADEMY Nexus had made a research on this one before they even constructed the entire building. The spaces have a sense of relaxed vitality that comes only with a strong connection to the outdoors.

Visiting the iACADEMY Nexus made me feel like I wanted to go back to school or wished this school was available during my time. Every parent would want nothing but the best education and future for their kids. Interestingly, iACADEMY Nexus offers short courses, workshops, undergraduate programs and senior high school courses. The school provides theory-based learning and experience-based learning opportunities.

Prepare your children to not just survive but thrive in the corporate world. An iACADEMY education in these senior high school tracks will give them that advantage. These are some of the newest additions to the usual senior high school tracks being offered at other schools.

FamilyMart PH opens at West Aeropark Clark Pampanga

FamilyMart welcomes guests at West AeroPark in Clark, Pampanga

FamilyMart PH recently opened its 68th branch and their second generation store in the growing development of Clark Global City. There is indeed no doubt the invasion and rapid expansion of the modern day convenience store is now running rampant in the Philippines.

It has long been predicted that convenience stores would be the next phase of modern retail growth in the Philippines and judging by the retail brands now springing up like plants in well-watered garden, the scramble for market presence is well and truly underway.

As new convenience store players establish their position in the market, the speed of outlets popping up across the retail landscape will accelerate as each plays a game of catch up, or at least, to get to the number of outlets required to offset operational costs.

FamilyMart raced onto the retail scene in 2013 and it was operating a lot of stores within two years and has indicated it aims to open 60-70 stores per year. FamilyMart West Aeropark sports a revamped look and vibe from the usual branch. Tagged as the "Generation 2"store, it follows the interior design of its international counterparts (but it will soon be rolled out in all their other branches as well.) We were lucky to interview Mr. Roald Yap, FamilyMart's General Manager while we were there. He warmly welcomed us as he proudly showed us around the new FamilyMart store.

This particular FamilyMart store is composed of different sections which features both imported and local brands as well as an aisle that has products from the different provinces in the Philippines. It's a great way to just grab pasalubong (items we Filipinos would usually bring home to our families and friends) from FamilyMart sans the hassle.

Amway's MIYU Skincare Celebrates 1st Anniversary in the Philippines

Korean glass skin is definitely the ïn thing"on skincare these days. One thing about Koreans that is definitely noticeable would have to be their clear, radiant and almost poreless skin. No wonder, Korean products have become very much in demand both online shops as well as physical stores in the country these days. But in as much as most of us would like to copy the exact DNA of Koreans, Filipinos have very different skin tones compared to our Asian counterpart.

Luckily, Amway Philippines launched the Korean Skincare product line called MIYU last year. MIYU means "beauty within you." Filipinos need not fly to Korea to purchase authentic Korean skincare products because Amway through its MIYU skincare line has brought the products here and made it specifically fit for Filipina's natural skin tone. Since its arrival on the Philippine shore, MIYU has had a strong cult following already among the Korean skincare fanatics. It sells like hotcakes from its shelves!

MIYU ambassador Krestle Deomampo

Amway Philippines recently invited Purple Plum Fairy along with other online influencers and bloggers to celebrate MIYU's first year anniversary in the country. The said event was graced by MIYU brand ambassador Krestle Deomampo who flew all the way from Davao to celebrate the said momentous occasion with us.

My Keratin Eyelash Lifting Experience at The Brow Studio PH

The Brow Studio helps you get that eyebrows on fleek

My good friend and I recently visited The Brow Studio. It's always been my go-to place for eyebrow grooming. But for this particular visit, my purpose is to accompany my friend who wanted to try the latest trend on eyebrows called microblading. I'm sure most of you are familiar with it. But for those who do not know what mircoblading is all about. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that creates hairlike strokes to fill in the sparse or thinning brows. I would've wanted to try it out myself had I not been diabetic. Unfortunately, I was told I'm not allowed to undergo such process. This procedure is not for diabetic and those who are prone to keloidal scars.

The Brow Studio at the Uptown Parade in BGC welcomes its guests

It was my first time to visit The Brow Studio's branch in Uptown Parade in Bonifacio Global City. The Brow Studio perfectly fits the posh Uptown Parade mall with its new hues of bright canary yellow, white and black colors.

My friend Merce Maata was a bit nervous at first because she had no idea if the microblading process would be painful. However, Ms. Michelle Almonte, The Brow Studio's resident aesthetic tattoo artist assured her that she will be in good hands. There's a topical anesthesia to begin with, so there's really nothing to worry about.

My friend ate Merce before the microblading procedure.

The two next photos are taken from The Brow Studio's Instagram page

Look at how happy and satisfied my friend has become after she has undergone a combination of microblading, shading and stroking in order to achieve such perfect semi-permanent makeup brows. Should you want to read Ate Merce's personal thoughts on microblading and semi permanent makeup, check out her blog here

Now, what about me? Aside from maintaining my brows, The Brow Studio also offers other services such as waxing, threading, eyelash perming and Keratin eyelash lifting among many others. While waiting for Ate Merce, I decided to avail of their Keratin Eyelash Lifting. I've previously tried their eyelash perm treatment. It was good while it lasted and I remember waking up to Disney Princess lashes back then. This time though, I wanted to see the difference between the usual eyelash perm and the Keratin eyelash lift. I got so excited just thinking about waking up again in my Minnie Mouse kind of eyelashes.
Purple Plum Fairy prior to the Keratin Lash Lifting Procedure

What exactly is Keratin Eyelash Lifting? It's an alternative to lash extensions and falsies for a curled lash effect. While some lash lifts use perm and ammonia solutions, Keratin is a keratin treatment that enhances your natural lashes by lifting the hairs and curling them.

I was born with a good amount of lashes, but they're quite straight despite being long and indecisively directed. They were boring, dead-straight and never liked to play with eyelash curlers. So when I got the opportunity to lift my lashes into a perfectly curled formation, I gave it a nod right away. I've had my eyelashes permed before so I was preparing to smell perming chemicals and the thought of putting them on my lashes. But alas, this Keratin Eyelash Lift is quite different. No watery eyes and no dizzy head. I almost doze off to sleep during the process! No kidding!
